At Thunder Bay Productions we care about the environment and because of that commitment we are called upon to produce environmental education video projects. | ||||||||||||||||
| When it needed to educate the general public on saving the waters of the Florida Keys, the Florida Department of Health, Onsite Sewage Program called on us to help. | |||||||||||||||||
| The agency needed to inform the residents of the Keys about the failure of traditional septic tank systems to function properly with the very shallow water table and lack of top soil for filtration. | |||||||||||||||||
| Producer and company owner Gary Mitchell, traveled and lived in the Keys for nearly three months. He spent time with federal and local governmental officials to study alternative wastewater systems that reduce nitrogen, phosphorous, and bacterial emissions into area waters. |  |

| He also visited with diving boat captains, charter sail boat captains, local residents, and others who depend on the waters of the Keys for their livelihood. | |||||||||||||||||
| The end result was a half hour video production available to all local residents explaining new alternative wastewater treatment systems and the need for citizen cooperation in upgrading systems as new houses and businesses are constructed in the Keys. | |||||||||||||||||
